Easy hair up-dos are great when you are in a hurry and when you are heading out for a night on the town. Here are some up-dos that make for a quick and easy hairstyling.

For medium-length to long hair there are many varieties of hair styles available. Easy hair up-dos from ponytails and buns to the latest celebrity craze beehive are perfect for any gal no matter what the style or age.

Ponytail

Ponytails are a staple when it comes to hair up-dos. It is the number-one hairstyle that men prefer. The great thing about the ponytail is that the look is completely different depending on the location of the ponytail. Ponytails can be worn high on the head, in the middle, or at the base of the neck; as well as swept over to the side on the base of the neck. Ponytails will also differ by what is done with the hair. One can straighten the hair, leave a natural wave, or curl the hair for more volume and elegance. There are also other variations to the ponytail such as the “faux-hawk pony” and the “Jeannie pony”.

To create the “Faux Hawk Pony”, take the section of hair from each temple and tease the hair to add volume and height. Then secure with bobby pins at the top of the head. Next pull the hair back into a ponytail just under the crown of the head.

To create the “Jeannie Pony”, straighten hair with a flat iron. Then create a very high pony tail at the crown of the head. If you have bangs, straighten them to add drama. If you would like to hide the hair tie you used for the ponytail, take a section of your hair from the ponytail, wrap it around the base of the ponytail to cover the tie and pin it underneath.

Hair Bun

Hair buns, also known as "chignons", are very easy hairstyles and can be made to look elegant as well as casual and fun. It just depends on how securely you pin the bun. A casual hair bun can be done easily without a mirror and works on all hair lengths. Gather hair like a ponytail and wrap around the base of the ponytail, then secure loosely with a hair tie or a hair clip. For a more elegant hair bun, gather hair in to a ponytail, tightly. Begin to twist your hair until it naturally begins to wrap around the ponytail. Secure tightly with an elegant hair clip or with bobby pins.

Beehive

The new style of beehive has been modeled by some of the most famous celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Elle Macpherson. It is an easy hairstyle that will draw attention to your eyes. To create this easy hair up-do, pin your hair up high and then sweep it into a large round barrel and pin underneath. It helps to straighten your hair prior and use a straightening cream.

I need a new hairstyle for gym at school and I only have about 10 minutes in the morning to do a hairstyle for the day. Is there any hairstyle that will be good in gym and you can do in 10 minutes or less? Please answer APAP (I am REALLY desperate!) Thanks! <3

Chrissy Dolezal :
I would think for gym a simple ponytail would be the easiest. Then after class you can choose to leave it in for the rest of the day or take it out. If the hair band leaves a ring in your hair (like mine almost always does), take a straightener with you and just straighten the top part of your hair out. That shouldn't take very long, 5 minutes or so.

Are there hair pieces you can add on to own hair for a glam/weddin up do if yoou have thin or shoulder length hair?
For example perhaps putting your hair up in a pony tail then slipping the pony tail through a hair piece and then wrapping the hair around it to create an effect that the hair is thicker and the bun is thicker?

I hope ive explained myself well for you.

Chrissy Dolezal :
Honestly, I'm not experienced with hair pieces. I believe there are some like what you have mentioned. I would recommend asking your hair stylist what she has worked with or finding a beauty store and talking with them.

I would go with a bun, slick back the hair. A hair bun just screams dove to me. Good luck!
